Ed was already a two-time world champion at the time and founded Toy Machine after the failed project TV Skateboards, which he ran with Mike Vallely. Ed was unsure at first when naming his new brand. There were 2 names he was particularly fond of: Toy, which seemed too childish to him, and Machine, which sounded too much like Henry Rollins to him. Without further ado, both names were combined and Toy Machine was born.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eToy Machine produced a video every year for the next few years. In 1994 came \"Live\" and in 1995 \"Heavy Metal\". By this time Jamie Thomas was already part of the team and Ed gave Jamie free rein for the follow-up video: \"Welcome To Hell\". Welcome To Hell was such a groundbreaking video at the time that it catapulted Toy Machine to the top in no time.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Toy Machine designs are almost entirely the work of Ed Templeton himself, who has since made a name for himself in the art world. The characters Toy Machine Monster, Sect and Turtle Boy can be found in almost every Toy Machine deck series.
